I went the opposite way. I bought the 40 S&W MS then got a 10mm barrel from Advanced.
Ive fired a few hundred 40s out of the 10mm barrel so far with no difficulties.
Except knowing it isn't head...

If your changing calibers. Basically the 45acp ejector is higher then most other calibers. The 9mm ejector is good for 10mm, 40 S&W, 9mm and 38 super.
The barrels also have to be the same type....

Its a rust preventative and it all must be cleaned out of the gun and reoiled before firing it.
That was more then likely Olympus original problem. He may not have thoroughly cleaned...
