Tisas is alright.
 
I was wanting a service issue looking 1911 from my days in the service during the 70's. When I noticed this reproduction from Tisas and saw the price I thought why not? Now just a note about my buying habits, I tend to own some high end 1911's. I got the Tisas on my pistol range and squeezed off six magazines to check the overall function. It did very well using various brands of magazines. For a $350 1911, forged frame and barrel...so far so good! Series 70, and no it's not Parkerized so it's just Cerakoted in that shade of color. Overall who can argue with what you get for the money. It certainly can do the job in the short term.

Picked up a Tisas Zig M45 (Carry/Commander) in SS 3 days back.. Stepped right into the range and ran about 50rd of 230gr s&b and 200gr Berry's HBRN thru it. Nice. Very nice. But, I really, really hate the ambi-safety sticking out the right..

Only thing I want to change is new grips, and to install the SFS to it, (once Mark/Slav reply to email), and it's going to be my new EDC.

Nice to hear your experience! I ran generic 230gr ball ammo with no issues and took it down for a good cleaning then lubricated it. I'll not use it for carry, just a range toy. Fortunately I have everyday duty sidearms so this just for play.

I bought one of the Duty model full size pistols about a month ago. I have been very impressed with it so far. Very accurate and reliable. The trigger seemed a little heavy at first, but seems to have lightened up some with use.
