Miami: Two cases of Armed Citizens defending themselves in 24 hours

It is the start to a busy summer. These thugs are having a hard time with all the armed citizens.

First case yesterday: attempted car jacking. A group of men see a truck loaded with bicycles and so they think it's easy pickings to car jack the truck and get the bikes as a bonus. What they didn't expect was for the driver/owner to jump into the bed of the truck and pull out a hidden shotgun. He shot at the thugs as they drove off. They abandon the truck and ran off. No one was apparently hurt.

Two armed robbers jumped out of a gray Nissan Altima. One of them pointed a gun at a passenger who was inside the truck, police said. The other robber threatened the driver who was trying to secure his friend's bicycle onto the bed of the truck.

The victims fought back and tussled with the robbers, police said. A passenger was able to rush into the store for safety. The driver jumped onto the bed of the truck where he had a shotgun. The robbers didn't know that, so they jumped inside the truck and sped off.
Second case today: Clerk was held at gun point and told to give up the cash, plus they knew he had a gun hidden under the counter and demanded that as well. What the thugs didn't know was that he also had a second hidden gun, and as the robbers left the store he pulled that one out and shot at the robbers. It wasn't until much later that one of the robbers was dropped off at a fire station and was pronounced dead at the hospital from a gun shot wound.

A pistol-whipped and bloodied gas station clerk who shot and killed one of two robbers “is not facing any charges at this time,” the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

The clerk says he ran after two robbers Wednesday afternoon at the Valero gas station at 2400 W. Sunrise Blvd., near Fort Lauderdale.

One of the robbers was shot, but neither investigators nor the clerk knew that until after the wounded man was dropped off at a Hollywood fire station at 3400 N. 56th Ave., the sheriff’s office said.

The wounded man was taken to Hollywood’s Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Coleman-Wright said.
Actually that might be a good ploy... two guns, maybe one that doesn't function so if you are ever held up and a robber demands a gun, you give him one that can't be used against you giving you the chance to grab the loaded gun.
