S&W 1911 PC tight barrel link

Want to know if anyone has had a problem with their S&W PC 1911 having a tight almost gritty barrel link. Have put 200-250 rds through it since new and the 3rd time field stripping to clean, had to use a plastic punch and hammer to move the link, soaked it over night, still stiff, won't move with the guide rod when I re-assemble and try to install the slide stop. tried contacting S&W customer service no one answers the phone.

Just drive it out with a punch and hammer, clean it up with sandpaper, put it back together and problem solved.

There are some things not worthy contacting customer service, this would be one. Do as the previous poster says. Few strokes with a stone and it will be golden. Be sure and use a set to re-install the pin.

Would like to thank you for the info, I just wanted to know if I am the only one that had this problem. This is the first S&W that I own. I agree this is a simple fix that I am very capable to fix but when you own for 8 months and spend $1300.00 and after 250 rds what can I expect down the road

I didn't have that problem with mine. Mine continues to be a fine pistol. Purchased new in 2015 I have a couple of thousand rounds through it. The black finish on the barrel is pretty much gone but that doesn't affect it's performance.

There was a time when S&W had a de-burr dept. The bean counters shut that down. Most new guns should come with a file to knock off all the burrs........
