Caspian .22 TCM project
Well, I've had a .22 TCM conversion kit laying around for a couple of years with no frame to put it on. Tomorrow, I will order a Caspian aluminum govt frame cut for the ramped TCM barrel and build I light weight 5" gun. Caspian frame and internals, aluminum Caspian grip safety, titanium hamme strut, aluminum mainspring housing, Ed Brown Tactical safety and a Rock Island .22tcm top end.
I'm not real impressed with the LPA RIA rear sight. Once I get some rounds down range, I may have the slide milled for an old school low mount Micro sight.

Sounds like a fun project. I haven't shot a .22 TCM but it always seemed like a run caliber to play around with, particularly for a trail / varmint gun.

I am currently playing around with building up an old Colt Ace conversion onto a not quite as old alloy MS Safari Arms frame. How are you planning on having the frame finished? I was debating sending off mine to get it Metalife'd maybe.

I was thinking of just a clear hard anodizing on the frame. I don't currently have a two tone 1911. I picked up a rock island ramped 9mm barrel to go with it. I think it will be a fun gun in .22 TCM.

Black Type III anodizing is harder, thicker, and more protective.

I bought one of the RI 9mm/22TCM single stack combos. The 22TCM is just too much fun. Something about a 2 foot flame coming out of a 1911.

Well, I accumulated a pile of Wilson bullet proof parts and the 'smith has it off for fitting now.
