New TCM Single Stack

Just picked up a new mid-size TCM single stack today. Have not had it to the range yet, but one of the first things I noticed when I opened the box is that there is no second extractor for the 9mm setup like with my full size TCM. Has Rock Island abandoned supplying two extractors with the combo guns, or is there something different about the shorter barrel gun that obviates the need for that second extractor? This one was manufactured in early November.

My single stack didn't include an extra extractor.

My doublestack Target model I got from Olympus back in October came with two but the extra one in the bag was marked TCM . Mine was extracting the .22's fine(except the random long cases). I shot a box of 9mm and then it would not extract the .22's. I had to retension it again. I didn't change it because they were the same part#. Guess each caliber needs a dedicated one. Changing the barrel and spring at the range is not an issue. Changing the extractor just requires taking more stuff with you.

Is the mid size regular bushing or does it have the reverse plug setup?

they only come with the one now. I emailed them when I got mine after I noticed some vids on youtube showing the second extractor. The told me they don't need the other one. the one extractor works with both rounds. just need to swap out the recoil spring and barrel. The fact it doesn't have one tells you that it's one of the new ones not leftover old stock. according to the tag that came with mine it was assembled and test fired on 9/11/2014.

The new pistols come with only 1 extractor you do not need to change it

The plug is standard, the guide rod is full length.

Just picked up a single stack TCM/9mm yesterday, 22-Jan-15 and 2 boxes of TCM ammo. Have not been to the range yet, set to go in a couple days.
This is my 2nd RIA / ARMSCO 1911, the first was a 10mm, due to pick up a 3rd, a .40 cal., in one week. Be interesting to see how this thing shoots. The 10mm does real well even with poorly performing pleated bullets. NONE of my other handguns shoot the pleated bullets worth a darn. These will bring the 1911 count up to 15.

2 boxes....... you'll wish you had 2 more.

Waiting for my welfare checks to come in on the first: Military disability, LEO retirement, and Social Security. THEN, will I buy more ammo, a 3rd 1911 in less than a month, and extra magazines.

Quick question. What is the model number for that single stack? Is it 51964? Thanks! Looking to buy a single stack 22tcm and wanna make sure it comes with the 9mm barrel as well.

Will standard 1911 parts work on this, i.e. msh, trigger, hammer , and stuff like that?

Sorry - missed this post for some reason.

It's been about 4 months since I made the first post in this thread - and several hundred rounds through the mid-size single stack. My MS has been nearly perfect since I took it out of the box - a single failure to extract on a round with brass that was long. This is using the same lots of both US and Philippine produced ammo that I've run through my FS. It took the FS close to the suggested 500 rounds before it ran as well as the MS ran from the start. The single stack is most definitely my favorite of the two, but I like both of my TCMs.

I have Commander sized single stack with a full rail. So far, I've shot six boxes of nine mm and two boxes of TCM. Not a single failure of any kind right out of the box. It is a hit at the range! A big boom and a blast of flame with virtually no recoil. It had become my favorite weapon. What a blast to shoot! Pun intended!

Do you get 2 magazines or just one? Also is it a special magazine or will other
9mm magazines work?

swmp9jrm 05-18-2015 05:58 PM

My MS single stack came with just one magazine. These are NOT 9mm magazines as far as I know. I've read some posts that say they are actually .38 super, but I cannot confirm that. Additional magazines for the single stack are available, but pricey.

I believe you want 38 super magazines if you don't order the TCM ones direct from Armscor.

Ok thanks, I thought so
