Trooper

Any opinions on the new NH Trooper? Looks like a very well made, no frills gun.

Everything NHC does is exemplary. It is nice to see them presenting new offerings in the low $3K range.

What appeals to me is the lack of FCS, ambi safety, drilled trigger, all things I don't need and IMO detracts from the appearance of a 1911.

It looks elegant. I can definitely see picking one up.

Nighthawk has clearly been paying attention to the 1911 market. I have always overlooked Nighthawk due to the pistols being over marked and IMO, gaudy, but now with the Trooper, NHC Classic, and Firehawk, they have my full attention. Finally some well build, well spec'd, clean pistols, right out of the box.

Looks great. Would be more tempting for me if it was available in more than just government frame.

I just put a Trooper on layaway. A well made, no frills 1911 is right up my alley (up to know my favorite 1911 was the government size DW Valor). This will be my first Nighthawk so I'm really excited to get this one!

Interesting. I have a black Valor .45, one of my favorite 1911's ; one of the reasons the Trooper caught my eye was due to the resemblance. I like 'em sleek and simple. I was gonna buy a 9mm Valor before they disappear, but when I saw the NH . . .

I also have a Black Valor and was thinking of another in 9mm. I like what I see here with the Trooper. Hmm.

I have zero affiliation with Nighthawk, but if you want something specific, I'd ask them - as a semi-custom house, and an American business who believes in capitalism, I'd bet they could find you a way of getting to where you want to be. They will do more than what is shown on their website.

Anyone know when the Trooper was first released for sale?

We officially released the Trooper at SHOT this last week. We did ship several to dealers leading up to SHOT though.

I got mine about a month ago at the LGS.
