Best 140mm springs?

Hello all:

I had a pretty low day today at an indoor IPSC match- for the first time in two years my SV 10mm wouldn't run.

All present agreed, in looking at the way the gun was jamming (the cartridge was leaving the magazine with the bullet end too high, with the slide trying to close with the extractor on top of the rim) that it looked like my magazine springs had become too weak.

They are ISMI springs with SV followers, and have worked perfectly for two years. It would seem that I got more time out of them than I should.

Most in my squad use Wolff springs, but the ISMI that I had seemed to hold up well.

What do you all use?

Thanks!

Brent

I shoot an SV with STI mags in 40 for IPSC, and use Arredondo springs and followers. They seem to work pretty well, but I replace them every 10,000 rounds through the gun to be safe. This averages out to about 2500 per mag.

I used Wolff springs to successfully solve feeding problem in my Para P16. When I got my open gun I used Wolff spring in my STI mags and had lots of feed problems. I replaced the mag springs with ISMI and the feed problems went away. I will continue to use ISMI springs in my double stack mags.

Wolf springs are good, but Grams are better. I think Wolf makes them for Beven, but bend them different.

I have been using them for a couple years and I havenít had a mag related problem since.

You are right, Tom.

Wolff is one of my suppliers. The spring is of my design, made to my spec's with the main differance being the wire size is larger then their off the shelf spring.
