EBAY - 80% 1911 frame for sale?

What does this look like? Take a look at the sellers other items, it looks like a complete 1911 is being pieced out for auction, including the fully complete frame. How stupid is that?

Maybe its not legally owned and as such being parted out. However the frame if serial numbered is a firearm. He will get his butt in trouble if he sells it without going to ffl holder. If ground off could still be in trouble.

Interesting, especially since Ebay's "very well thought out policy" forbids the sale of frames. Me thinks it may disappear if the Ebay police find out!

I thought you could sell a frame/receiver if it was an 80%? Meaning it is technically NOT a firearm yet. I know I've seen other frames for sale on ebay.

That being said, this one doesn't look like an 80% frame, more like finished, minus small parts.

80% finish remaining. This is considered a frame even minus all parts as the SN part.

Selling of any type of firearm is prohibited on Ebay.

If this is a frame which has been "finished" (all grooves, holes, fitting, etc.) then it is considered a pistol and should be serialized and shipped only to an FFL location. If the serial number is "removed/altered" then that is a Federal offense which carries fairly severe penalties.

But I agree...the PC Ebay Stormtroopers will investigate and destroy if necessary

Later, Theron

Already happened:

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale. "

Duh!
