You REALLY need to get out more!
That's been around at least 5 years, maybe 6.
And no matter WHERE the sights are put, gang-bangers still won't use them... Beware of copy-cats:

The reason they turn it on its side is because they say the sights get in the way of what they are shooting at

Its been about 5 years and was a joke. Our Chief of Police saw it and thought it was a real ad. Well at that time our city had one of the highest per capita murder rates in the country and there was the usual outcry from city government until they found out it was a joke. Needless to say I did have about a dozen calls from the local citizenry ( my shop is in the city) asking if we carried "Homeboy Sights".

Vermillion: How would you happen to know that?
Now seriously has anyone seen at the range, backyard or elsewhere somebody shoot "gangsta style" and hit their intended target or manage recoil? |

Actually, I remember seeing an article in one of the Gun mags on that very topic. They used a variety of handguns to see which would be the most accurate when fired sideways.

I knew the gun rags had run out of ideas for articles a long time ago, but that last statement proves it!
![]() BTW I once fired a Kimber HoMeBoY-style at the range a couple of years ago, trying to diagnose a functioning problem. When fired on its side the thing triple-tapped!

You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot it for at least 500 rounds, then decide what you don't like and want improved. Vintage 1911's should NEVER be refinished or modified because it ruins any value they had as a collectible firearm. |

I was alone in the member's-only section of the range, but I still didn't expect it to triple on me. This was back when I was diagnosing failures of the Series II design where the slide sometimes wouldn't go all the way into battery. I had discovered that canting the gun sometimes aggravated the problem. Well, upon getting the gun to triple on me I realized I was facing more than one problem at a time with that gun!

That pic has been my desktop for a year or so.... Just makes me laugh everytime I quit a program....
Let's hope the "gangsta's" take it seriously |

The article is to be found in the book, Gun Digest 2000. The author is John Mallory. He even mentions that he first saw shooting sideways in the movie The Good, Bad, and the Ugly.

Hey I've actually been thinking again about gettin me a glock.
I am sure I could eventually get used to the trigger. I'm not so sure I could stop gigleing long enough to adjust to those sights. Them thar home boy sights must be Glocks lastest in factory options.
