Dan Wesson Pointman PM3

I am new to the 1911 forum and was wondering about a 1911 DW pointman I picked up for a good price. It DW logo, minor and
has pointman PM3 on the frame. Just wondering about the gun cuz I am not familiar with Dan Wesson 1911's and I can't find to much info on PM3 what it stands for. Any help for a newbie is appreciated. Thanks.

It is their entry level gun. Pointman minor. The PM2 had only rear serrations and the 3 has front and rear serrations. The frame and slide are cast as opposed to forged. I also have one of the PM3's and it is really a very nice gun for the money. Here is a pic of mine.

Congrats

Glad to hear you purchased a Dan Wesson. Obviously I'm a die hard glock fan too, but I have been shooting my DW Pointman Major more then any other pistol lately. As a matter of fact, I just came home from the range after pouring 150 rounds through the major. It seems to be shooting high and I want to make sure it's the gun and and not me before I look into fixing the sights.

I agree mine shoots high also, but other than that no problems.
I had a couple of experts shoot it and it shot high for them. I use it for bowling pin shoot and love it. But, always (a but) the glock 22 I cleared 5 bowling pins last nite in 4.62 seconds. I have in five's and six's with dan wesson, but trying to get better. Maybe customer service or someone can give advise to the gun shooting high. Thanks all.

Point of impact will change some from use of different ammo's. If you are consistantly high you may need a higher front sight or lower rear.

Thanks,
BOB

A Dan Wesson Pointman Minor is the only 1911 available for rent at a local Target Masters, and it consistently outshoots anything else in the cabinet (excepting the new Springfield XD-9 4" and the XD-40 5"). A great gun for the price.
