Checkmate Magazines

DW team, Thanks for all the great advice. Quick question : Today I looked at a VBOB at the LGS and noticed the Checkmate Magazines had the DW logo stamped on them. My gov't Valor uses the same Brand, but there are no DW logos on the the magazines supplied. Does that make sense ?

I had to have one 9 mm mag warrantied for not locking the slide when empty and was informed that the DW logo is no longer on the mags. I bought three 45 and 9 mm mags from DW. No logos. The logo is a nice touch but not important to me.

I have had some problems with the Checkmates that came with my DW's.

I still fill them up on the range, but for carry, I go with Wilson ETM's. They have been 100%.

Both my Check-Mate mags have worked flawlessly so far. There is no DW marking anywhere on the mag. The build date is mid-2013.

My LGS had Kimber mags, so I got some of those and they too have worked flawlessly so far.

I have about 300 rounds (I use all the mags) through the pistol so far. Maybe I just got lucky.

The two mags that came with my CCB were
Checkmate marked DW. They are 8 rounders.

The 7 rounders I bought after market are marked
Checkmate only

All mags have the skirted followers. Haven't had
any issuses with either.
