Illinois State Police CCW FAQ on thier website

There is still some, "we need more time to get stuff in order" answers, but it covers getting a license and becoming a trainer.

Sure, it'll be a lot more time. Maybe 2 years at best. I'm sorry, but you need to kick the scum out of office.

What a bunch of BS. It is worse than CA. $300 for a non-resident, with no reciprocacy for out of state permits, $150 for a resident.

And apparently NRA instructors are not considered qualified to apply as a trainer.

And 6 MONTHS to get a permit.

I hope people and the NRA start filing lawsuits. They are making it impossible for many people to afford permits.

The goal seems to be to turn law abiding people into criminals for trying to protect themselves.

I agree. Its stupid. But it could be a lot worse. In fact, Gov. Quinn and Co. haven't given up and making it the biggest pain in the arose possible.

Ultimately I'm still wanting to leave Hellinois.

They have no intention of allowing out of staters carry in Illinois. They did not want us to carry.
That also means then it is very unlikely that other states will honor IL CC permit. We will still have to have multiple carry permits.

No, the goal is to stop people from legally carrying in Illinois, no matter what the Supreme Court says.

the ISP is as much a part of Illinois politics as the CPD is Chicago politics. The head of the ISP is a stooge for the Governor.

No. They don't issue FOID cards to non-residents.

FOID cards are required for IL residents, because you can't legally own a gun without one. The Illinois Supreme Court ruled in 2011 that non-residents do not need an IL FOID card if they have a CCW from another state.
