You did great & congrats on the $15K. Wife & I enjoyed the segment. You added some much needed pizazz to the show.

He he he, no, there's plenty of that going on elsewhere. I was just making an observation. Different strokes for different folks...

Keep in mind that this was filmed in October.

I hope you have spent it all well since then! 15 grand could buy a lot of nice 1911s. You could have ordered 5 Ed Browns!! lol

Way cool thread and way cool episode - thanks to who posted the link. Nice score too. I tend to make it Gold & Silver Pawn and Ricks Resotration when I get to Vegas, once or twice a year. The pawn shop to look around (when there is no line) and I do not really care to see anyone, am not typically star-struck, but they do have some cool items. But Ricks Restoration those guys are great, shake your hand and appreciative of their fan base. To me, that guy has serious talent and knowledge.

I saw it yesterday and thought it was the coolest gun on the show so far, and seemed to be about the fairest gun deal they've actually completed (they seem to window shop all the good guns, but never buy).

I still can't get over the fact that it was the second barrel Colt ever made, and was owned by Wild Bill.

I'm pretty sure if Rick didn't keep it for his own collection, the "expert" now owns it.

Ouch!

I can imagine your disappointment upon finding out the pistol was mismatched, but you still made out okay. Had the whole thing been serial #2 they might not have had enough money in the safe to buy it off of you.

Try not to fall into the common trap of wanting to replace everything on your new 1911 just to make it "better". Know what you're changing out, and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot it for at least 500 rounds, then decide what you don't like and want improved. Vintage 1911's should NEVER be refinished or modified because it ruins any value they had as a collectible firearm.

Well, I bought a mint Colt SP1, an Olympic Arms, a Colt M4-22, a Chiappa .22 upper and some other stuff like a DW ECO.

Watched it on my DVR last night. Incredible gun! I could not have let it go at any price. You know you have something special when the expert appears to have a premature ejaculation when he sees it.

What ever happened to...

...the guy with the goatee who appraised firearms before the "college puke"? He once went with Rick to look at a gatling gun that was for sale. I thought he was very knowledgeable and use to be one of the mainstays of the show.

He is going to be on a different show and I believe it is on a different channel. That is why he vanished off of Pawn Stars.

His name is Sean Rich. He is going to be on a show called Lords of War. I think it will be on National Geographic.

Yep, that's the guy. He was more likeable than the new guy. I guess it's like Rick's Restorations. Pawn Stars used to consult with Rick on everything until Rick got his own show...
