Thunder Ranch Special suggested retail price
Suggested retail price of standard Thunder Ranch Special, please?
I just called a dealer in Huntington Beach that has one in stock and they are asking $ 1895. Who was the stupid son of sam that brought this drop test into effect in PRK (peoples republik of California)?

Don't know what the going rape charge is for dealers, but I just checked www.lesbaer.com and their price is $1620.

Thanks:
TracerSpies; I don't think that the problem is as much a rape charge for the dealers to charge the public as much as it is now like "sitting lame duck" here in Cal. for any prospective buyer. There are so few nice guns coming in to prk (peoples republic of Kalifornia) that dealers think anybody walking into a gun store and mentioning the word "gun" is evidently stupid and ignorant. That store was asking almost 3 bills over list. What the heck is the world coming to?

I just talked to Tom at Sportingarms.com and he said that they have TRS's coming in next week at $1519. Great price and a great place to deal with. I may pick one of them up myself.

Knowing what dealer cost is on a TRS, if Sporting Arms has them for $1519 thats pretty good. BUY ONE !
Correction ... BUY TWO

Thanks to everyone who responded on this query. i do not expect to beat $ 1519. I did find one in Ca for $ 1599, which I thought was pretty good for the Peoples republik of kalifornia.
I will be looking into the one at Sportingarms. I might look into hard chrome and delivery date

If you want a hard chrome one, you will probably have to have it special ordered. I think sportingarms usually just gets in the standard TRS's. But from what I have heard the lead time on TRS's is 4-6 weeks (usually 4) compared to the other LB models which are running 12-16 weeks right now. Tom said they are only getting 2 TRS's in and that they go very fast. Have you checked gunsamerica.com for TRS in hard chrome?
I just loooked on gunsamerica.com and there are 2 TRS's in hardchrome. Both are just over $1800 bucks. Last edited by Cyclops24; 02-09-2003 at 05:35 PM. |

Where did you get the quote on the TRS? I'm in the market for a SRP but haven't tried to find a Les dealer in So Cal yet as its usually easier to get it nationally and sent to a FFL here. |

Martin Retting's in Culver City is a Les Baer dealer, Gold Coast Trading Co in Huntington Beach occasionally has Les Baer's. I do not know if they are a Les Baer dealer, but I can only assume that if they get Les Baers, they are. They ( Gold Coast Trading Co.) are the "nice" people that quoted me $ 1895. When I saw Gold Coast Trading Co with the same gun at the Costa Mesa gun show a week previous to this on their display table the gun was marked $ 1695, but was strapped so it can't be racked, which is
customary and required at all gun shows in Ca.I asked the gentleman to remove the strap so I could check out the action, and he declined. I told him that I would go to their store so that I could check out the gun, and he told me that they would not remove the strap at the store either. I asked the gentleman if they expected someone to buy the gun without so much as racking the slide and his response was an astounding " Yes". I assume that the action is excerptionally tight, as some TRS's are, and he is afraid that someone not familiar with Les Baers will "snivel" about the tightness, but that is only a guess. I don't buy guns that I can not inspect, unless they are not local. If you are accustomed to buying out of state, it is probably better that way, and I might end up doing the same
