Where to find a Ruger SR1911 for a reasonable price.

Hi, I am looking for a Ruger SR1911 for a birthday gift and need help finding one for a reasonable price. Perhaps we could all post links to places we know that have them in stock and for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

I dont know where your from, but around here we have a Lawmens and they flat out have the best price, unfortunately every store has a realy long waiting list. In fact I called the local Lawmens here earlier in the year, and they were no longer puting people on the list untill the current one was reduced.

Sportsman Warehouse here in Tucson, Arizona had 20 of them last week. The price was $699.00 plus tax. I do not know if they ship out of state or not.

Best regards.

Where are you located, and what do you consider a reasonable price?

I'm in Kansas.

We don't have a Lawmen's, but we do have a Gander Mountain and Cabelas. Both stores have no Ruger 1911's.

We had a Sportsman's Warehouse, but they went broke. I called the one you mentioned in Tucson and they said they recently received a shipment of 25!!!!! However, they don't ship out of their store anymore (corp decision) and only have one 1911 left...

The Scheels in Lincoln, NE had one yesterday for $699. They may have had more as I saw this in the counter while walking by. They do ship I believe.

I picked one up at Dong's for around 669.00. Thanks Papa!

Since I'm in Ks, shipping was only 10 bucks and the FFL fee was 20.00. I'm happy. Thanks for all the help friends!

By the way $799 on one is list I think, and even then some gun stores say they are priced too low. I got mine for $599 down in Tucson at Second Amendment Sports Inc. in Tucson during their pre hunting sale. I missed the previous sale where 5 sold in the first 12 minutes I think. I got there a few minutes after their doors opened and there were six left when I got mine. I and a few hundred other nice gun folk stood in one line, then another and after a couple hours later it was mine.

I do need to get a picture up, but I guess most folk know what they look like. I bought a Taurus PT1911 when it first came out for $500 and I am thinking, "Yup sure another cheap 1911." So far I am impressed with the fit and finish and how it shoots. Major impressed. Unlike Taurus, Ruger does not have the 80s safety, the ambi thumb safety or a FLGR. One guy I was in line with was buying a second for his daughter. I can relate.

Local pawn shop had one for $587. It had more slide/frame play than I cared for. I'll wait for the next one they get.

I feel sorry for someone wanting to buy for a gift that has not been on a waiting list.

I got on a waiting list May 26 at Lawmwn's Supply, a company here in the Carolinas and just got to purcase my SR1911 today!

The wait was certainly worth it as my cost was less than anything anyone has listed so far.

Ruger Promotion Thursday 10/4!

I've been searching for a reasonably priced SR1911 for a few weeks and some detective work just paid off.

Florida Gun Exchange has a Ruger promotion starting Thursday and should have 40 available. The flyer states local sales only but I believe they will transfer.

Good luck for those in the hunt.

I got mine for 700 at a big hunting store. Look around local, and you get the added bonus of taking it home with you that day, shooting it first, etc.

I was in Academy Sport in Mesquite, TX today...they had two, at $699, that they had just gotten in. (They both sold while I was there.) You might check your local Academy Sports.
