My first gun a springfield 1911-a1!!
Heelo guys,
Bought a 1911-a1 from springfield in 9mm. I have a question. I put a 100 rounds through and I hit nothing?? I am a fair shot but it seems something is off. I took the gun apart and noticed two things. The guide rod is a plastic variant, don't know if that is bad and if I lock the slide back, the barrell is very loose?? Is this normal? I am from the netherlands and we shoot at 25 meteres on a 50 cm by 50 cm chart with bull=10 and outer ring is a 1 ( outer ring is 30 cm in diameter) From the 100 shots I put 2 on the card witch is very bad for me. With a cz-75 and a glock 17 I shoot groups of 5 shots at 5 cm at 25 meters. I am a bit puzzeled?? Any ideas?? ![]()

Shoot at a closer target until you become accustomed to the grip and you know your poa/poi.

If possible try shooting at 15 meters.

Barrel should be "loose" when slide is locked back.
Everything should be tight and hard when it's in battery. 5cm groups your norm at 25 meters???? I don't know. I'll shut up and listen to any tips you can give on such fine shooting.

THX for the info guys.
But i am suprised that you find my grouping that good. I am really a fair shot most of my collega's who shoot matches make does groups at 2-3 cm. I will post my next result in this forum but that will be with a glock 17.......because with my 1911 I am not that good yet!!
