Kudo's to the customer service at Taurus
Recently
I purchased a new PT 1911B at a local gun store. I loved the 1911 that I had when I first came into the military and have always wanted one since. After buying some ammo I went to the range at Fort Sill and commenced to breaking it in. 600 rounds later the weapon wouldn’t eject or extract rounds. I took the weapon apart and sure enough the extractor was broke. I read on the web site here many similar stories. Best of all I found the comments here very helpful especially the ones telling people to call customer support and get a replacement. I also took the suggestion to buy a few more while talking with customer service so I would have some backups. The customer service rep was very helpful. I stated that I had the pistol for about 2 months and the extractor had broken and I needed to get a replacement and I also wanted to order two more as a backup. The rep stated that since the pistol was so new he would cover the extractor under warranty and throw the other two extractors In as well for free. I was a little taken back but very appreciative. Love my PT 1911 and extractors do break and no I didn’t chamber a round directly into the barrel and then close the slide. Kudo's to the customer service at Taurus. Only complaint was the amount of time it took to actually talk to a customer service rep |
