That seems to be a very gray area. It might be a law, but its a flawed law based on our laws. I would say the Police are doing the right thing, and the law makers are doing the wrong things.

It might be an issue that was worked out.

Most state require a conviction, as you have a presumption of innocence...

Any woman that makes a claim can have your guns and rights taken away. It might be a few years till trial and it might be for life, but if she says you did wrong, say bye bye to all your firearms, for life.

That is at the crux of the situation. There is something like 12000 divorces a year in NJ. Needless to say not all of them smooth. Then there are other domestic situations as well. Plus you can not turn your firearm over to anyone to hold in this state. To do so lawfully means you give up the ownership rights to them. To get them back you need to resubmit the paperwork and background check after a judge and prosecutor sign off on it.. If its a pistol in addition you must go through the permit proses again. So your second amendment right is suspended just on an accusation from anyone provided they file a report with the police. Anyone !!
