IWB or OWB for my SIG Extreme 1911???
My very first gun and I have zero experience carrying. I seem to think IWB is better for concealment. In CT you are only allowed to carry a gun concealed. But If I buy a nice custom holster, say from Kelley Leather or Andrews Leather, why would I want to hide it? I love the exotics Andrews leather has available. Stingray, elephant, tegu lizard, horned croc, shark, hippo and many others.
Any suggestions considering style or type for most comfortable and concealable fullsize 1911 holster? aNY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED. |

Holsters are tools, just like guns. A certain amount of embellishment is fine to show off to your friends...but if you are only allowed to carry concealed, then if someone can see your holster, you're doing something wrong.
![]() It's entirely about personal comfort. Entirely. Looks are nice, but if wearing the holster make it feel like you've strapped a sandpaper-coated brick to your side, then you'll never want to use it. I've always had better luck with IWB for concealment, especially in warmer weather. Find a well made leather IWB rig, and I think you'll be happy.

Thanks Fuzz
Im leaning towards an IWB but hard not to fall in love with the spinal stingray skins that andrews leather showcases on their website...LMAO. I do like the quality of Kelley Leather's work and the C-Spring, i believe looks super nice |
