Sig 1911 Ultra Range Report

Just got back from the range with my Ultra. Fired over 200rd of Federal and WWB both 230gr FMJ. Other than 4 FTFs, no other issues.
I have my SA 5" 1911 with me today to compare with the new 3.3 Ultra.also I brought few WC mags to the test.
Surprisingly The recoil form Ultra is not that bad at all, if you used to .45acp recoil from a Gov's size 1911 I'm sure you can manage to shoot the ultra just fine.
Accuracy? Very well! Shoot just as good as my SA 5" 1911@10-15 yards. Very good night-sight.
All 4 FTFs are from both factory mags and both ammo( 3 from the same mag), fired 70-80 mix ammo by using WC mag NO issues at all. All the casing have the same mark/dent(as shows in the photos), not sure what causes that???
Even though with 4 FTFs, I'm still pretty impressed with the performace of this little 3.3 Ultra 1911. I will test some different brand of ball ammo and defense ammo in the near future and see how it performance before adding The Ultra to my EDC!

Few more photos of the mark/dent on the casing fired by Sig Ultra. I'm not too sure what causes this??

Just wanted to mention today it was brought to my attention that my spent casings are also dented. Have checked other forums seems to be of no cause for concern. Although unsure of exact cause.

Shooting the 1911 C3

Thanks

My C3 had those marks/dents. I also had FTF issues.
The barrel ramp hung over the frame ramp. After Sig. reworked/polished the barrel. Its fine in both regards now.

With your slide off, barrel and slide stop installed. Push the barrel aft.
You should have this gap measurement between the two ramps;

Sig also replaced the ejector. It is now black colored and has a different shaped nose.
Its like the green shape now;

Let us know how it goes.................................. Troll

Thank you very much for sharing the very useful infros! I will try some different mags and ammo next time, see if that improves the FTFs issue. I will update my report as soon as I got a chance to go to the range!

No problem! Have you call or email Sig CS for that matter??? I'm just wondering is this a common thing on all the Ultra? Or we should send it in for repair?

Spent casings/dents

Take a look at the casings and let me know this thing doesn't have to go back to SIg?

Are you by any chance using an Uplula to load the mags? I've seen casings dented by using a loader so I am just curious.

I haven't noticed that problem with my Ultra but I'll check more closely on my next range trip.
