Front Strap Wear
I have A WC aluminum frame and the front strap was re-coated once by WC on their dime. Less than a year later same wear in same area of front strap. The front strap does not rub on anything (not in the car, nor in the holster and I do not wear rings). As an aside I cannot wear automatic watches - they will not run after a couple of months.
I'm trying to determine a coating that can be applied that will resovle the wear problem. Would like to keep the pistol "black". Recommendations appreciated. Yes, I know, wear gives it character - I'm character enough, do not need more from my pistol. Also, this is not intended as a "dig" at WC.

Well, since WC changed the Armor Tuff formula in the past year and I've read here that Armor Tuff is one of the tougher finishes (problematic on aluminum frame) - I will send the pistol to WC for another re-finish.

I would try either IonBond DLC or matte black chrome done by Bob Cogan's shop.

You might look into having it anodized.
