Homeowner stops burglar with shotgun

Fayettville N.C.

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/11022380/

The first one trying to get in the window caught a shotgun blast to the chest. He was arrested at the local hospital, but insisted he was shot while playing basketball. 16 and 18 year olds.

Shot in the chest and was checked into a hospital instead of the morgue? I smell birdshot.

Next time, apply buckshot folks.Good ending anyway.

It is interesting how each state charges the intruder differently. In many states a situation where the thief (in this case, thieves) breaks into an occupied home is considered home invasion. In Florida, it is charged as "breaking into an occupied home with the intent to commit a felony". That is a much more serious crime than breaking into a vacant dwelling. Of course, it can also be a death sentence if the home's occupant is armed and ready.

Gee, and from the looks of the house it appears to be a "nice" neighborhood.

Yep. I've got slugs in the one by the front door, and buck in the one under the bed.

Crap....how things have changed! When I was 16, I was still reading comic books. What a waste at the age.
