Old 686
I bought this S&W 686 new in 1988. The adj front sight caught my eye. When I received it and went to the range it shot great, a ragged hole at 25 yards.
I drifted into plastic then 1911 pistols, love the 1911's now. But I took this old friend out last weekend and it still shoots a ragged hole. ![]() ![]()

Great looking revolver. The 686 is an excellent 357 and both of mine are tack drivers.

I"ve got the same revolver with a 6" barrel which I also purchased new. The front sight allows you to zero the revolver at 4 different distances and just rotate the front knob to select between them.

My 686 does not have the neat front sight. Still a great gun and have not taken a picture of it. Well I did in 35mm, but have not digitized it yet.

My 586 is my favorite gun to shoot. That adjustable front sight is really neat, I'd like to have one!

Great gun. The only problem I have is that you refer to it as "old". I had turned 21 only a few years before the L-frames were introduced. Surely, something sold that recently can't be "old".

It was a sad day when that rig left for my customer. Worst part was it was my size, too. Still my favorite picture of my 'ol 586 though
