shock tec guide rod

I picked up a shock tec recoil reducer guide rod at the show and wondered if anyone has used one. It has a little piston on the end that compresses to spread out the recoil and lesson impact on the frame. It is made in Germany and looks well finished to me. Has anyone on this forum used it or the Springco system that Steve Camp reviewed? Just wanted some feedback before I tried it, did not want to mess up my gun if it is not a good product. Thanks
