75 year old Detroiter repels attack with SKS, one dead.
This guy lives in one of the worst areas of the State with a sickly wife that he cares for. Apparently, three would-be robbers entered his home at 1:00 a.m. with the intent to rob him or worse.
Armed with an SKS and only one round chambered, he repelled the attack by killing one and sending the other two fleeing into the night. Good story here. Fin

It's going to be interesting to see how the DA treats this. While those of us on this forum applaud this Gentleman, many DA's may not.

If the facts of this story has been represented properly, the gentleman should not have anything to worry about. Since Michigan is a Castle Doctrine and a Stand your ground state, the outcome should be a positive one for him when the investigation is concluded. Even an over achiever DA would be hard pressed to tackle a case like this one.

One bullet. The Barney Fife method. ---The only thing wrong was that the guy was blasted out the door, Hollywood-style. Obviously the guy fell out the door or even staggered out & collapsed.
Other than that the piece was good & the 'ol dude did well. But I'm sure glad I don't live there! |

Good news here, and a kudos to the prosecutor for seeing things in the correct light.

good for him! I am glad he was cleared of all charges...that's the thing...even if it is a "good shoot" you still got to deal with Johnny Law and the courts when you were just protecting yourself. Does it suck? Yes. Is it necessary? Yes. The cops still got to make sure that you aren't a BG yourself and that you acted justly. In this mans case Justice was served.

I say lets take up a collection and buy that man some ammo ! But with 100% hit ratio a box of 20 ought to go a long way !
