Polkowski CQ
So I am a "Craigslister"... lots of looking and the occasional find. Last night at about 9PM this knife shows up and I phone only to get a machine, so I leave my name and number saying I will buy the knife (no posted picture). The problem is I am a pastor and can't follow up on Sunday morning. Sure enough at 10:15 my phone vibrates in church... I decide to do the right thing and not buy a knife during worship. After church I get in my car and return the sellers call... he still had it, and he had a 1st Production Benchmade Nimravus as well. Long story... but bought them both.

The price is too low to mention... Criminal for a pastor on a Sunday.

What a great find! I'm a fan of Polkowski blades. I believe a guy named Bob Kasper designed (or gave input) many of Polkowski's knives. I particularily like the bulldog, pug and scorpion. Yours is a spectacular find with that handle. Enjoy!

I've wanted a Polkowski knife for awhile and sent Al a deposit for one back in 2009. He was a pleasure to communicate with so I was surprised when the time came for the knife to be delivered and I couldn't establish contact with him. I recently learned that he passed away last year.
For those of you who have one of his knives, you have functionable art that is now collectable. Last edited by Big Nate; 04-07-2012 at 09:59 PM. |

That is sad news Big Nate. I believe Bob Kaspar passed away years ago also. Al's website is still up but there's no news on there as of his passing.

I too have a Al Polkowski neck carry tactical knife. I love it. I'm sorry to learn he has passed.
RIP

Actually, he passed away in 2011 and not last year like I stated earlier.

It's too bad, he was still pretty young. I've never handled one of his knives but heard of his work and always thought his knives were beautiful.

Elkhunt, spending what you earn wisely is a Biblical value...if the seller was happy with the deal and you didn't spend too much it was a good deal.
I have to admit that I'm not that much on knowing manufacturers of high end blades but that thing just looks right!

I always make an offer... but in this case I paid what he asked, didn't feel right making an offer.
