1911 Sight Change

Hello

I just picked up a SA 1911 .45 A1. These sights are low. Can they be changed out for something like the Novak sight or should I leave them as is. Are there any specific tools I would need to change them?

Thanks

No, I'm not shooting low. The sights seem hard for me to get a good sight picture as apposed to other 1911s' that have a higher sight in the rear

I recently ordered an adjustable rear sight (Novak cut) from SA and a Dawson FO front sight for my SA loaded.

My understanding is, the fs cut on a SA is a little different, so you have to get the fs specifically for a SA1911.

I just spoke to a gunsmith who will change them for me, both front & rear with Novak sights. It is a Model 1911-A1 Mil Spec .45 acp made in 2000

Try a .100 width first if you have no problem with hi or low.

After 3 range trips and 750rnds, I have a 9151 that is shooting low...stock front post ht. .180. Going to try and fix it with a .160.
