Smith&Wesson pre-war .38/.44 outdoorsman. Went through the King custom shop at some time, King rear sight and mirrored front sight, barrel cut to 5" and an action job. Came from the factory with humpback hammer. I changed the mint Magna grips to an old pair of service style ivories. Absolutely love this revolver.

My favorite would have to be my Ruger GP100 with a 6" barrel. Its cheap, tough as hell, and looks fantastic. I love it

My favorite revolvers are the ones that I don't have.....yet. Most are still on the "want" list. But, of the ones I do own... My Taurus Ultra-Lite Titanium .38 Special is my favorite mid-caliber carry gun. Weighing in at a whopping 11 oz., light, reliable, and really comfortable to carry. For novelty purposes, my Taurus Judge Public Defender is a hoot to shoot. But will not be taking any accuracy comps with it. For both novelty and backup I find myself daily with a NAA Mini .22. Polished out and fun to show. Any time I find myself in a discussion about concealed carry, I never show my primary weapon, but if I pull the Mini to show, any concerns about having a gun in the room is replaced with smiles and always comes with the question..."Is that real?" Always throws people off.

Here's an example of what I've doggedly come to the conclusion is my all time favorite revolver.
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...IMGP2975-1.jpg A Colt Python is a very close second or perhaps the equal favorite of mine but these 3 1/2" Mod. 27s are far less well known. |

![]() Nothing so "special" here, except the .38 was my first gun and I call it "Chief". I prefer the stock wooden grips as far as looks go, but shooting it is painful without the extra cushion from the hogues so I finally broke down and "upgraded" it. The little NAAs are cool, being that if you were on the other side of my little hand you would see neither of them. The .22 Magnum is "Mr. Big" and the .22 Short is known to me as "The Craw". I think only real fans would know what those names refer to so I'll leave it to them. |

Sorry, thought I did! Now I did, mind is a terrible thing to waste! Ruger Bisley Vaquero customized by John Linebaugh and his son did the grips. Stainless, 4" barrel, free wheeling cylinder, action job, rounded grip frame with ivory micarta grips, custom holster and belt slide. INHO the # 1 singel shot wheel gun is the Colt SAA in 45 ACP or the Ruger Vaquero
The #1 double action wheel gun is the S&W 625! ( i don't own any of them, yet,)

I don't normally warm to the .357 caliber, but I want to wake up next to this gun and buy it breakfast...

Probably the toughest decision to make because I am a revolver person. I have several of them. The revolver I have owned the longest is a Ruger Police Service Six 357 magnum. I have a great fondness for this revolver. But when I think back at my boyhood there is one revolver that I saw in many police officers holsters. It was the S&W model 10 4 inch service revolver. Other than the Colt SAA revolver I saw on tv in westerns, the model 10 represents the standard of a double action back in the day. Here is mine M&P pre 10 4 inch tapered barrel revolver. Too me this represents history.
Regards, Howard
