DW No longer making SS Valor & V-Bob?
I have it from a Good Source that Dan Wesson is no longer making the Stainless Finish Valor & V-Bob's. Only Duty Treated ones.
Anyone else here that, Keith?

Nope. Haven't heard that. Doubt it too. Let's hope not.

Since the Duty-Treated ones ARE stainless ones before treatment, I would think that was just a rumor. I thought that I read or heard somewhere that the stainless Valor was their best seller, too, though that might be a rumor, as well.

I heard from a "Good Source" that Glock was bringing out an all steel single-action revolver. Anyone else hear that, Gaston?
DW makes a limited number of each model every year, so someone, somewhere likely decides how many of each model are going to be naked, how many covered up. As pointed out above, they all start out naked; it's conceivable that at any given point in a year that "all guns from this point on are going to get covered". Man I really hate these Interwebs sometimes. Worse than the old telephone game we played when I was 5 years old (how fast and how contorted can you make a rumour spread?)

Well 1911Wilson, you just got the straight skinny from DW's Production Manager (Keith DW) which no doubt trumps that dweeb you talked to on the east coast, eh?

Bets are that so called dealer was spinning you as he couldn't get any more of what you wanted, didn't want you looking elsewhere, and wanted to sell you what he has. He's the type of cretin I steer clear of!

My LGS told me he was not "planning" to get any of the silver SS guns as the Black ones have a higher turnover (read bigger profit). Steven

Agree. I've heard so much baloney from dealers (and have had them try to feed it to me too), that I walk into LGSs with the assumption that I have to research everything independently and never take someone's word for it. It stinks for the honest businesspeople, but after a few times of independent verification, I'll start to trust that they know what they are talking about.

Off topic... Does the V-Bob come with flush cut barrel? Is that a standard option at DW?

No. It does come w/ a thick bushing which makes it appear flush cut.

Why would they get rid of the best bang for the buck pistols they make!! I was upset for a minute because I need to sell 2 1911s so I can have my SS Valor. Once you handle a Valor or V-Bob you will want.

At the NRA Show in St. Louis today CZ and Dan Wesson were there, I did NOT see a SS V-BOB there, however the duty finish V-BOB, Guardian, CCO, SS Valor and RZ were there.
