Ya its not that impressive...
Average full size 1911 weights 38-40oz. Average alloy frame full size 1911 weights 33oz. STI 2011(non-FL dust cover, etc.) weight 33oz. This thing would weigh 32.5oz. My M&P weights less loaded with 17 rds than my 1911 does empty. 1911s aren't "light guns"... you can attempt to make them light... but in the end, the way they are designed, you still need a lot of metal on it... unless you redesign the ignition system(and how it attaches to the frame) and the lower lugs, you will not get in the "plastic gun" world weight. MIke. |

Think I'll stick with alloy frame 1911s for carry. See no weight advantages in the RRA polymer.
