Project too expensive RIA Tac is getting news skins

As in grips. I finally found THE grips I want to put on Project RIA TAc. From Hogue, called the G10 magwell system. I got a new Sig Scorpion a few months ago that had them on it stock. I LOVE them. They are G10 grips and a MSH that goes together and makes an integral magwell. Neat system really. here's a pic of the grips and MSH I got, I opted for the green G10 and Arched MSH.

I'll take some pics of them on when I get the grips and MSH tomorrow or Friday.

And after I get my coating done on the slide, this thing will look super neat. I am doing dark earth on the slide and leaving the frame black, and doing the furniture dark earth.

I need to stop looking. I promised myself no gun builds or purchases until mid 2012. That's a beautiful pistol.

No it's more than likely a .45. What you are seeing is the Hogue Avenger kit. It has a fixed match barrel and is no longer gas operated. It is a $1,300 conversion to essentially turn a stock 1911 into a Match Ready Race Gun. Don't know how well that works though.

Correct, and in a couple words, AS DESIGNED. Also, you can get them in 9mm, .40, and .45acp, and I think, .38super.

Here it is

Got the grips today and installed them. I had to swap all the parts from the old MSH to the new arched one that goes with the integral magwell system, but that took a total of ten minutes!!

Bad cel phone pic ensues!

They work great. I am going to checker the MSH though. Smooth G10 grips are tacky enough but the MSH is a tad too smooth. I love them though.
