Wilson Combat Logo

When did Wilson Combat change their logo? I seen an advertisement at the top of my screen for Wilson today when I logged in and it reminded me alot of the Nazi eagle.

I've heard that before. Kinda odd that this post made your "666" post.

I would have never made the connection, but they do look similar. I liked the old logo better.

You get used to it, and when that happens, you'll almost prefer it. I bought a t-shirt and cap with the new logo and it's kinda nice I think! The other logo wasn't all that bad either though. Sometimes you need to change your image somewhat, and I'm sure that a lot of time and thought went into changing the design..

We've already got a number of logo threads on the board, so I'm not sure how long we'll let this one play out; that said, it's been at least a year or two since the rebranding campaign really was put into motion, and I suspect we all have opinions about it.

If you think that's something, then get a load of this:

Prepare to be astonished and perplexed! For this little known fact applies to EVERY HUMAN in existence!

Anyone & Everyone will come out with the same answer on this one: Guaranteed!

Take the year you were born and add it to age you will be within this year! (FYI - It's 2011)

disclaimer: this was only intended to mildly humorous. So before the spawn of "you know who you are" swoop down to inform me of just how idiotic I am. I must take this moment to inform YOU that you really need to either Chill, lighten up, or pull that wedgie out!

well maybe it was the same as the molon labe grips and a sports team threatened to sue them...

I actually don't mind the new one, and the nazis aren't going to sue I bet!

With all respect I'm tired of the nazi comparisons. Let's put it to bed... Anybody / any company that has a bird (eagle, hawk, etc.) as part of their logo is going to be fairly similar. Pretty sure Wilson Combat maker of the best american firearm EVER has no give a sh** about nazis or Atlanta Hawks or anybody else that has a bird as part of their logo. Hell I look sort of like Hitler (head, two arms, two legs and and an ass). Thank God I'm not the biggest loser in history on planet earth. And pretty sure he wasn't obsessed with Wilson Combat. Point being not sure you can't find similarities with anything if you try hard enough.

I beg nobody to tell me that WC wasn't around then.

I havea BMW patch with the Reichs Adler with the BMW logo in place of where the Nazi NSDAP had placed the Swastika. (I ride BMW motorcycles)

The Reichs Adler Eagle clutching a wreath was a german symbol for many, many years before the National Socialists hijacked it. It is a symbol of Germany much like the Eagle is a symbol of the US. Just because a bunch of scumbags hijacked a national logo and added their logo, does not make the Reichs Adler logo a Nazi Logo. Also the German logo looks to the right, while the Nazi version, the bird looks to the left. Wilson combats looks to the right. Just an observation.

That being said in no way is the Wilson Combat Logo anything close to either of them!

I like the new logo a lot better than the old one. To say it looks like the Nazi symbol is a huge stretch.

Don't get me wrong, I am not implying in any way that Bill or any of the others at Wilson Combat are in favor of nazis. I'm just saying that when I seen that logo it reminded me so much of the pictures I had seen of the nazi logo. I think Wilson makes great products and Bill is a pretty good guy. I just had to chuckle when I seen it this morning because of the resemblance
For the record, I much prefer the old logo

Yeah, pretty big stretch IMO. If you're somewhat obsessed with things like that, I suppose you can imagine it looks close, but to me it doesn't. Obviously, the eagle is an important symbol of this country and that's the very general association I make with both the old Wilson logo and the new one.
