As mentioned the Mernickle PS6 is usually listed.

The Mitch Rosen Uper Limit is another.

In kydex, you can adjust the Raven Concealment Phantom pretty high

The PS6 is nice looking, but damn if I could find a price anywhere, even for the basic model. The Rosen is pretty nice looking too. At least he lists a price.

A high-rise would be something I'd be interested in considering a full-size 1911.

Says right on his page, 89.95 for the plain model.

I've got the PS6 in brown basket weave with matching belt. Rides high and tight and I like it very much.

Have to wait long for it? I'd just want a plain one; but LH, so that probably means an extra-long wait. Until then I'll live with a Galco which doesn't appear to ride near as high.

It was less than a month and mine was LH as well. Call them. They are great to deal with!

How low below the belt does the barrel extend?

On the Mernickle how low below the belt line does the holster extend? I've been considering purchasing one to wear with a leather vest which would need to be long enough to cover the bottom of the holster.

Thanks.

Check this picture for your reference. The bottom of the holster is at about at the top of jean pocket.

Since 1911's are available in different barrel lengths, I always look at where the trigger guard and ejection port sit in relation to the belt. If both are above the top of the belt, especially in an FBI canted holster, you have a pretty high riding holster.

So did the OP end up with anything? I've sent a couple emails today asking for info. I'm not interested in a canted rig, so that cuts out a bunch of options. I already have one and am not overly impressed with it's fit. The Rosen one looks good but I'm not sure if he makes it for a 5". Hopefully I'll hear back early next week. Some days I just don't feel like wearing my VM2 and would like something different.

I got a US High Ride from Rusty Sherrick. I absolutely love it. He made it for my Raptor Pro II. It rides at the level of my coin pocket.

Check out Andrews Custom Leather, saddle holster. i have one for my 1911 and love the high ride. Very high quality, beautiful workmanship. You can find it on their "traditional skins" page.
