Adding a Magwell to a XO SS

I bought a Railed XO SS and would like to add a Magwell to it. I was wondering what kind will work and if its something I need to have done by a gunsmith or is a simple addition?

I just added a Smith & Alexander magwell to a black XO this past week. Very simple. I followed the directions below. I did not blend the magwell to meet the existing bevel but may in the future.

This youtube video seems to do a pretty good job showing how to install a magwell on a sig.

Most magwells are fairly straightforward installs that most owners can perform themselves.

Where in Iowa are you? PM me.

Thanks to everyone who posted a response. I will check out the S&As and Brownell's Catalog.

Just installed a S&A on my Nitron Carry R. Straight forward. Added the Argo XT grips, no blending needed. This covered the entire grip. Now, basically matches my Sig 1911 Tactical Ops, but with the smaller slide.

The only thing I can recommend is that you completely remove the existing Msh, thumb safety, grip safety and sear spring when you replace it. Many YouTube videos tell you to tie the grip safety in place and just swap out the new Msh. Sometimes the sear spring will move using this method.

I added the S&A magwell, to my Sig 1911R Carry. Straight foward and easy install. Added the Ergo XT grips to fill in the the grip. Basically, it is identical to my Sig 1911 Tac Ops, with the shorter slide.

Hope this helps.
