Light Weight "Commander"??
I'm in the mood to aquire a 4" (or 4 1/4") light weight 1911 for belt carry. Far as I can tell Sig does not offer this, am I wrong? I have a full size SS w/ rail that I like and believe the features and quality make the Sig line a great choice, just wish they made more models. I'm not in the mood for a shorter grip (only standard lenth mags here and I want to keep it that way) or a heavier gun!
Does anyone know if they plan on adding any models anytime in the future? The Carry Nitron would be sweet if it would loose 10 oz's. Thanks, Tony

No true commander, only the CCO models in light weight.

The C3 and RCS models are commander length, officer slide. No true cmdr or 4inch gun available thru SIG. Mine is the RCS and it is fantastic!

Smith & Alexander makes an Officer's/compact magwell that matches slim-line grips (less weight and bulk for carry).
Wilson makes an 8 round mag that has a baseplate 'stop' set at Officer's grip height. This would get a Sig RCS/C3 very close to 'fullsize' grip status.

Thanks for the ideas EM. I like the thought of that except one problem.... most of the reason I'm looking for this size is simplicity and how it fits my current collection. I only have full size guns now and the mags for them. I'm just thinking about Murphy and his law. If I have one set of mags in the house for the "little" gun I'm sure that’s what I'll have w/ one of the full sized guns when the time comes.
In some ways I'd like to get a Kahr or something similar sized for carry, but I have some 1911 holsters, reload 45 and shoot this platform the most so it's what I want to stick to. I'm being picky but I guess it's my money and I want one 1911 just for carry. Bobtailed LW commander size...... Thanks again, Tony
