I'm starting this thread so everyone can post pictures of the mods they've had done from Springfield's Custom Shop.

I don't have any pictures to share, because I just sent mine off, but here's a couple I googled for starters.

Man, I'm seriously considering ordering up a Custom Carry with that Radical Carry job. Looks so clean and smooth.

* Tuned & polished extractor
* Pinned ejector, not glued
* Standard recoil spring guide assembly, with EGW Monogram Carry Bevel Plug (smooth, no letter on plug)
* Custom fit beavertail grip safety (square back off, as opposed to rounded)
* C&S high grip tactical extended thumb safety
* 10-8 rear sight w/dovetail front gold bead
* Machine checkered front strap, 25LPI
* S&A magazine well, matched to bevel on frame, checkered 25LPI to match front strap
* Undercut front strap (mild)
* Serrate rear of slide, 40LPI
* French borders on slide
* Ball cuts to slide, no front cocking serrations

They really do great work. That is a great looking 1911. And it's good to see Black T in a real picture. That's the finish I ordered for mine. The radical carry bevel looks much better than I thought it would. Very nice!!!

Nope. Old school parkerizing.

I love parkerizing. When I had my Mil-Spec customized the Custom Shop reparked the whole gun. Incredibly awsome job.

Post pics man. I don't even remember what the Parkerizing looked like on my GI, it's been so long since it's been perfect.

Wow...now that's crazy, it actually has 2 of the mods I'm having the Custom Shop do for me.

Serrated front strap and serrated MSH (but I'm getting a bare S&A magwell serrated instead).

Nice to see what their serration work looks like.

Is the thumb safety springfields?

Don't you mean three modifications? It also has the Springfield Custom radical carry bevel.

I'm pretty sure the thumb safety is a Springfield part. I don't think he changed any parts when he sent it back, and this gun started out as a basic Custom Carry.

SVTNate is actually an aquaintence of mine. Being in California, he was forced to purchase the Custom Carry in California DOJ "approved" configuration. Now having it as an approved pistol on his permit, Nate sent the gun back to the Springfield Custom Shop and had them work over and replace everything per his specs entirely. The thumb safety is a Wilson Combat I believe, as is the slide stop.

No, those pics I posted aren't mine. I googled "Springfield Custom Shop" just to get the thread started.

Mine is actually at the Custom Shop right now. I was originally told it would take 12-16 weeks for me to get it back, but Deb informed me today that the reason is because of the Black T, which takes about 8 weeks by itself. I told her to do Armory Kote instead, and she told me I'd have it in about 2-3 weeks, because they already started on it.


The Custom Shop received my GI Monday and it already had:

Ed Brown beavertail grip safety
Wilson Combat hammer (forgot which)
STI short trigger
Trijicon Nightsights.

The mods I'm having the Custom Shop do are:

Serrated front strap
Serrated S&A magwell
Novak low mount bar/dot sights
Lowered/flared ejection port
Polished feed ramp/throat barrel
Ext thumb safety
Armory Kote (Blk)

One word describes that gun, SLEEPER. I'll be on the lookout for that gun when shooting for lunch or beers.
