.45 ACP Ammo

Ok,this may really be a stupid question but... I just purchased a Kimber .45 and asked for a box of ammo. The guy asked me if I wanted .45 ACP or not. I thought that there was nothing but .45 ACP. Did I miss something here?

Did you ask Kimber for the ammo?
Their are other types of .45 ammo. .45 Colt being the most popular, though I'm sure others will add to this.

Sorry No. My fault, I was not clear in writing my question. A sporting goods store in town ask if it was acp or not. I did get my answer though. There are different kinds of .45 ammo. The most popular is ACP (Auto Colt Pistol). Hey, live and learn!
