Sticky This Holster List

This is the best list I can make of Holster Manufactures and Distributors on the internet. When I post it there are 87 businesses listed. I delibertely left out the links that just lead you to more links, those aren't any fun. When I post this all the links work but if you find one that doesn't send me a PM and I will fix it or remove it. If you know of any other manufactures let me know and I will add them asap, I would like to eventually purge the huge distributors from the list and make the list more about the guys and gals that make holsters for me and you to enjoy.

Craig and Audrey are two of the coolest people you will ever do business with. I have ordered from them three times now and each time they have shipped the same day. Fantastic service and the best leather products out there.

And they are a sponsor!

One thing that is really surprising me about the list is the number of manafuctures that are backlogged and no longer taking orders till they can fill the ones they. Some manufactures are backlogged 6 months or more. It appears with + 80 - holster makers in the US that there is still a large number of folks that want holsters and can't get them because of the huge backlog of orders. All of the quality makers have delays of several weeks and sometimes months before they can ship an order. A lot of the more simple cheaper styles can be shipped in only a few days.

I truly believe, even in our depressed economy, if yo had a dozen or so people who were escellent leather craftsman, a good business plan along with a couple good unique designs, you could develope a viable business that would make you and your employees a comfortable living in a very short period of time.

I'm loosing my job beginning in 2009 so if anyone wants to start a new business making holsters, let me know if you need a hard working employee that is a "jack of all trades" and I will help you out all I can.

I added NM-Holsters and Lightning Arms. I may have to limit add ons to holster makers only, not to distributors. That is the direction I really want the list to go. I want to honor and help the small business man that is making holsters and just trying to make a living like me and You.

Well....you could start by cross referencing this list, but I believe there might already be a sticky of holster makers on the home pager.

Theres already a list posted in the "1911 how to and FAQ forum". Just go to the administrative section of this site. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=209176

If you see a name that needs to be added to the other list, I'll gladly update it, but no sticky for this one.

My list has every Manufacture and distributor that is on the other list plus several more. It is also much easier to read in my opinion and all the links work, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to sticky it so it would remain available to future viewers of this forum. I purposely left off the links that just lead to more links, they soon become confusing.

If there is anyone not on the list that should be I will gladly add you if you so request by PM.

#1. You don't get a sticky just because you tell us your post deserves a sticky. You're not the first to be denied having their thread stuck and you probably won't be the last. Don't take it personal.

#2. It's anoying to have to scroll down half a page to get to the first un-stuck, current post, which is why we police it so that when you open this forum you don't have a bunch of sticky clutter that most people skip over anyway.

#3 The holster links you provided have already been provided in the "1911 how to and FAQ" forum for anyone to see. There is such a thing as redundancy even though you might think your list is better.

Since your post here mirrors that of the PM you sent, you wont be getting a response from me in that format, but take heart. When your thread falls to the bottom of the archive pile like it most likely will over time, it will still turn up in a member search. If you would like your list post moved to the other forum thread where the other two "holster lists" reside, just say so and I'll be happy to move it there. That way there will be three lists in the same thread for the members to chose from and they can decide which is the easiest to read.

Do as you see fit with the list. It's your forum and you should run it with your rules and I will continue to make a contribution when I can offer something useful.

Let me know when 5=Shot Leather starts accepting orders again and I will get them added to the list.

Is it legal to bump this back up so some new members and searchers can find it easily? I have 4 or 5 more I need to add in the next couple days.

No, its not proper to try and make your thread an unofficial sticky by continuously bumping it to the top.

I would suggest that you edit your original list (at the top of this page) and remind me by PM when the list of yours has been updated. Once you notify me (in private not by bumping this thread) I will update your original post that I had moved over to the 'How-To's' and FAQ forum so it will be current. I will close this thread if you try to make this an unofficial sticky by routinely bumping it. If I close this thread, you will no longer be able to add to your list.

Edit your original list, then let me know and I will update it here. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=209176

Thanks.

Here's an important one, Thad Rybka – a different drummer, no telephone or website or email and always a backup, but his design and quality are superb and well worth whatever the wait. Write him, he'll send you a catalog:
