I thought the factory finish was a little thin.
The OD Duracoat is a tough finish.

A great pistol for the money. 700 rds and no problems what so ever. The one I had before this one had 1700 rds and no malfunctions of any type.

Here is my first 1911 and post on this board!!
I have only owned it 48 hours, and fired as many rounds through it. It performed great, however I'm used to shooting 9mm and need to get used to the larger round. I seem to group to lower left (think my trigger finger pull is pulling my aim down). Only more rounds and practice to do now....

Just bought it last week; ran 75 rounds through it without any glitches; on the hip now...looking for a rear sight replacement - any suggestions?

I went to the range and tested the Taurus for the 2nd time. It was very windy and cold, so I did not stay long at all.

My point of aim was in the upper right corner of the orange box. Will shoot again soon and if shooting the same adjust the Heinie sights. Good thing I have this ability on the Taurus, and at a reasonable price.

Does anyone have any recommendations on replacement grips? Do Colt grips work or do they have to be cut? Any websites to purchase would be appreciated.
