I recently sold an early 80's SS 6" python, box, papers etc. for $1300. It lasted less than 12 hours on Gunbroker, which tells me I probably priced it a little too cheap. Somewhere in the $12-1500 range is going to be about right depending on the configuration and condition of the gun.

Thanks guys. I accepted a bid that was below both of your's but not by much.
I bought it a pretty good price 7 years ago. I suppose I should of held out for a bit more than offered, but once one strikes a potential deal, one has to stick with it. I still made out with around 400.00+. Anyway, I appreciate the input. I had made a mistake on the years. It's an early 80's as well. I got it confused with a late 70's Colt SAA I have. You're happy and he's happy . That's what counts . Prices will vary depending on local economy and in different parts of the country . Sounds like you did fine .

Yea I know it's going to a retired Sgt from the military and I'm a vet so
I like that part. He offered me the option of getting out of it when I brought up price, but the weapon just sits and I could use money to pay for my funeral. So all in all I'm ok with it. Thanks again guys, I know when I come here to ask for help, I'll get straight talk. That's refreshing ! We're meeting tomorrow at a gunstore in Pasadena Ca. His son is bringing him since it's Father's Day. I think he'll like the weapon. Here's a lousy pic of it.

Nice piece . The 6" is the classic Python , imo .

Thanks Guy. I'll miss it but I only pulled it out of it's container once in a while
to look at it and clean it. Yea I hope I have few years left. I just want to take care of my final business now. I can get BBQ'ed and sent over to Riverside Natl here in SoCal for $640.00 out the door or maybe I should say in the ground, from this place. I realize it may not be proper to talk about this on this site or this forum, but my don't want to stick my nieces or my sister with stuff I can get handled now. The sellin' of the Python will pay for the planting.. One can put the fee into a Calif Trust and regardless of future higher costs, mine will remain the same. Not a bad deal. Very nice people to deal with as they just took care of my last parent end of Apr. http://www.arrowheadaftercare.com/index.aspx |

I understand completely . My wife and I have our will , but haven't made any arrangements yet . At 45 , I hope we have a long way to go , but you never know .
Looks like you still have your SAA and 1911 left . I can't think of a better pair
