I did some internet searching, and read that Starsky used a 1911 only for the pilot. I also read that in addition to the S&W 59, he may have carried a P35.

I don't know if it's been posted already, and I could be mistaken, but in Apocalypse Now, wasn't Robert Duvall (as Lieutenant Bill Kilgore) holding a 1911 as he strolled up and down the beach after/while driving the enemy out of a river delta (while shirtless but still wearing an ascot, lmao).

When I was a kid (10ish in 1976ish), and Starsky and Hutch was still an active series, I saved up to buy the Starsky and Hutch toy gun set. It included a long barrel S&W .357 Magnum and a Colt 1911. Even then the 1911 .45 was my favorite gun.

The movie was over the top with curving bullets, but it had a TON of custom firearms including the 1911's. I think the one Ms. Jolie carries is a custom Safari arms "Match Maker".

We just saw the movie RED with Bruce Willis and some other very good actors. He handles his 1911 very nicely in this movie, expecially in some of the opening scenes.

+1 for Street Kings, Two Kimber TLE/RL's and Keanu Reaves had a "custom 1911" that looked strangely like a SIS, but I don't remember off the top of my head.
