What is it worth ?

Browning Hi-Power 9mm bearing the serial number 245RN588_8. Can anybody tell me when it was made and what it's worth, The gun appears to be in very good condition.

Looks like it was made in 1979 so that would make it what some would call the "Classic" HP. Value could vary quite a bit depending on where you are and who is buying. I've seen very nice classics go around here for $600. There are a lot of folks here with a LOT more expertise than I though, I'm sure some will chime in here shortly. Post some pics if you get a chance, we all enjoy pics of the older guns.

What type of sights are on it?

If it is in really good condition I would pay $500 for it. I see people tyring to sell older HI-powers for $600 plus but they don't move unless they have tangent sights or other collector value features.
