Caspian Arms LTD frame

I got ahold of a Caspian frame,,,,marked Caspian Arms LTD HARDWICK,VT U.S.A. S108XX
It is SS and has a cut-out behind the grips like a 1911,,not the newer style. It is also shot-peened and has the 1911A1 relief behind the trigger.
The front strap is like sandpaper,as is the mainspring houseing, and a patch
on the trigger guard. There appears to be a Caspian contoured grip safety on it too.

The slide is SS also, but not shot-peened.Has verticle serrations on the back only,,as a 1911 Colt would. The back of the slide is horizonally serrated. No numbers at all on the slide,in or out,,nothing.

My question is sense the city of origin is not Wolcott,Vt. ,what can someone tell me about this gun?I can shoot a picture or two if that would help.A date from which the gun might of been made,,from the city would be good.

It's a few years old

The frame/slide set I bought from Caspian in April 2000 is marked Hardwick, and the package was shipped from Hardwick.

The Caspian frame I bought in 2001 is marked Hardwick, but the box has a Wolcott return address. Apparently they moved during that period. Newer frames are marked Wolcott.

The Caspian staff is super. A call to them may reveal info regarding your frame. Some of the features you mention are available as factory options. Of course, stippling and other features may also be added later by someone else.
