front sight tenon size for a Colt Combat Government Model Series 80?

I am trying to find out if a Series 80 Colt Combat Government Model uses a narrow or wide front sight tenon size. These guns were put out by Colt in the early-mid '80s and featured a serrated front strap, beveled mag well, lowered and flared ejection port, high-profile sights, and a Collet bushing. Thanks in advance.

I've never seen a Series '80 slide that didn't have a wide (.125") front sight tenon.

I've seen both on early S80s. You'll just have to pull the existing sight to tell for sure. Or you could look at the width of the staked tenon on the inside of the slide and make an educated guess from that. Note that on the wide tenon sights, the tenon is the same width as the sight blade.
Note to John -Come on buddy! I know that you are a youngster, but you must have seen at least one. Maybe when you were taking that graduate course on Dremology from our mutual aquaintance, the master gunsmith/cop.

Funny, as I was typing that my "little voice" was saying "but of course you have and someone will show you the error of your ways".

I thought it was gas from too much pizza for lunch!

The Colt Combat Government models have front sights that are silver soldered on. They look like the Gold Cup front sight.
