.22 conversion on an Ultra frame?
I was wondering if Kimber's .22 conversion would work on an Ultra frame? I love to shoot my new Ultra CDP but ammo prices are killing me. Let me know...

If the Kimber conversion unit is strictly a 5 inch barrel model then it probably will not. You will need a Commander (Pro-Carry)/Officers (Ultra) slide length, or you may experience battering. If Kimber does not carry the shorter slide length, Ciener does (they made the original Kimber conversion units). I have one and it works great, just make sure you order the correct (Officers) size magazines. Also, use only copper plated high velocity 22 LR ammo or you may have problems with leading. The Ciener web address is: http://www.22lrconversions.com/
