165g Hydroshoks instead of 230g?
I was recently at a gunshow and went to replace my Hydroshoks I keep in my downstairs gun (a Kimber Custom Polymer .45). In my excitement on finding a Beretta 96G-SD at a good price that I picked up, I failed to notice that I bought a substantial amount of 165g Hydroshoks instead of the 230g I usually keep in it.
It feeds them perfectly. Question is- am I selling myself short with the lighter loads? I live in New Orleans, so they will likely not have to penetrate heavy clothing. Then again- a guy got shot to death 100 feet from my front door last week, so there is a very real chance I will have to use them......

Hello. I have no idea how it relates to human adversaries, but I've had uniformly dismal results using Federal 165-gr. HydraShoks on javelina. The 230's worked fine but the 165's with similar hits were more than a little disappointing.
Best.
