Hello everyone. I just got some RAASCO Dymondwood Laminate 1911 Grips and put them on my Springfield Armory WW GI model(obviously it has had lots of other work done on it). They look really nice and are cut to fit flush with the Smith and Alexander mag well. Even my wife likes them, but still will not part with her S&W M&P 40! The grips were a real hit at the range we go to.
I have a set of both. Fondling them on the couch I can feel the fully checkered set as grippier on the palm side. I can feel the smooth portion on my palm. My fingers fall on the checkered section so no difference there. In a live fire situation I've never noticed a difference but I don't really pick up on small stuff like that very well when shooting.
It was 10 days for me, and they have tons of options: covering the MSH pin or not, beveled or matching a mag well, etc. I will order from RAASCO again that's for sure!
Just picked up a pair myself. I refinished my stock RIA CS grips, and they were still a little tacky as of yesterday, and I put the stain on the last Thursday. These are definitely more grippy than the stock ones I stippled.
