I'm thinking of ordering a pair of Dura Grips. It's difficult to tell how these look/feel from photos. What I mean by that is that I don't want a set of grips that feel like cheap plastic. Anybody own any?
The specific ones I'm looking at are the D-Fence or Wasp Nest grips. But, I would appreciate observations from anyone who has owned any of their grips.
I tried the Wasp Nest and the Peanut style finish. They worked but didn't seem perfect for me. They definately had a plastic feel and were not very grippy. I've since replaced both sets with G10 grips from VZ. They cost $40 more, but to me it is worth it.
I had to fit mine to get both sides of the ambi safety to clear, but they grip well enough for me. Can't go wrong with VZ though. I think you'll be happy either way.
I really like Dura Grips. I first found them on Ebay, and I wanted the Peanut Grips because they remind me of the grips that come on the Kimber Warrior, except thinner and with more color options. So I ordered them. They cut the Ambi-safety for me, I just had to email them about it.
Great Company. And I really like the rubberized feel. VZ grips are great. I own several sets of Operator II's. Dura Grips are great in my opinion, especially for the price. I own the Peanut Grips, Wasp Nest Grips, and the D-Fense Grips... all are great. They are also just a lot easier on my hands than the VZ's.
So if aggressive G-10 grips are too rough, or VZ's just seem too expensive, Dura Grips are a high quality alternative.
