SAs get mixed reviews and the DW PM9 is also appealing, though I've never seen one of their products either. At first I thought STIs were American made but that does not appear to be the case.
STIs are made in Texas, except for the Spartan, which is made by Armscor.

With the 9mm loaded prices going up, the Trojan is (IMO) a better buy.

Only bad thing about STI's are the nasty looking billboards they call roll marks.

All I can say is make them field strip the Springfield and examine the lug and hood fit in the slide before you buy it. Mine is terrible, but I bought it used. The pistol was like new and I have to believe it left the factory like that. I would buy the Trojan if I had a do over. Also the inside finish on the stainless parts on the Sprinfield are inferior to my Sig 1911 Target. Fit and finish are the primary differences in 1911s of different brands. Unfortunately, the the excessive clearances in the barrel lugs and hood produce poor accuracy. It will take a new barrel to fix it and my stainless barrel is like new. Unfortunately I didn't buy this pistol new and it has no warranty on poor workmanship.

I am very happy with my Loaded Target 9mm. I recently put it through a test -- firing 2,070 rounds without cleaning or lube. No stoppages, malfunctions, or breakages. Metalform mags were used. Normally I lube my guns about every 300-500 rounds, but this was for the purpose of determining the gun's reliability.

I did replace the ILS mainspring housing with a S&A combination magwell/MSH. I also installed a 12lb recoil spring and 24lb mainspring, along with new grip panels.

I'll help you out, I'll buy that thing from you cheap then send it in to SA for them to fix it perfect. You interested? Just let me know.

I just picked up this Springfield 9 MM Target last week. I've been after one for a while, but no luck with availability. A dealer near me got 5 of them in so I jumped. I also got a Stainless Mil-Spec .45 with it. Here it is. I'm hoping to get to the range next week.

I've heard nothing but good things about Springfield 9mms. Just got mine back from them after doing some repair work. Bought it 2nd hand and the original owner mucked it up. Looking forward to shooting it next week.
